It has become a Christmas Tradition to spend the last week before Christmas at Disney World’s Fort Wilderness. Our family met us here for all or part of our stay. Fort Wilderness Campground offers a great venue for families. It isn’t necessary to go to the parks to enjoy the Disney Magic. Fort Wilderness offers horseback riding, plenty of bike and walking trails, golf cart rentals to tour the Christmas lights, Chip n’ Dale’s campfire and singalong, and an outdoor Disney movie on the big screen. It is our favorite stop of the year. During the holiday season, folks from all over this country, converge on Fort Wilderness to adorn their campsites and RV’s with mega Christmas Displays. Many of the individual’s decorations, rival those of Clark Griswold’s in Christmas Vacation. Some are quite magnificent, gaudy, and “over the top”.
Part of staying at Ft Wilderness Campground is taking advantage of the four theme parks. The remainder of our family, the Rutherfords, joined us for our stay at Fort Wilderness. We had 4 adults, 3 kids, and 2 dogs staying in our 5th wheel for a week. The living quarters were quite tight but the love and fun was overflowing.
We recommend all RVers should stay at Fort Wilderness at least once in their lifetime. You won’t regret it!
